Leave No Trace at Yosemite
Yosemite Hospitality strives to preserve the beauty of the park and lake for generations to come. To help us achieve that, we have partnered with Leave No Trace to better educate our guests on how they can minimize their footprint at the park. Please take a moment to learn how you can Leave No Trace! Click here to learn more about Leave No Trace.
Admire Waterfalls
Yosemite's meadows and waterfalls are breathtaking, but it's crucial to stay on designated trails and boardwalks to protect sensitive vegetation. Obey signs near water features, as climbing slippery rocks or crossing posted areas can quickly become dangerous.
Track Your Trash
When riding buses or trams, keep track of your belongings and snack wrappers. Before leaving, scan your area to ensure you're not leaving trash behind. Always dispose of waste properly in trash or recycling bins.
While in Transit
Yosemite Valley experiences high visitor traffic with limited parking. Plan ahead to arrive early. Once parked or if staying onsite, use the free shuttle to explore. Carpooling or public transportation is also a great way to minimize congestion.
Protect the Wildlife
Yosemite is home to diverse wildlife, including black bears. Respect them by following speed limits and properly storing food, trash, and scented items like sunscreen or bug spray. Use the food storage lockers available at parking lots and campsites.
Think Before You Snap
Yosemite's Instagram-worthy spots are irresistible! Remember to follow Leave No Trace Social Media Guidelines before sharing your adventures to protect the park.
