Snowshoe Rental Information

Snowshoes can be rented at the Badger Pass Nordic Center. Snowshoe rentals are on a first come first served basis. The Nordic Center hours are 8:30 AM - 4:00 PM daily. Rentals must be returned by 4:00 PM or may be charged another day's rate.

Guided Snowshoe Hikes

Choose between our moderate or adventurous snowshoe hike led by a knowledgeable, skilled, and friendly guide from the Yosemite Mountaineering School and Guide Service. Families with children younger than 10 years old are welcome to book a private snowshoe hike by calling the Nordic Center at 209.372.4996, the Mountaineering School at 209.372.8344, or emailing yms@aramark.com.
Discover the wonders of Yosemite's winter environment on this 3-hour hike traversing 3-4-miles in the snow. Due to distance and duration, children must be at least 10 years old to participate and accompanied by an adult.

Discover Yosemite's winter wonderland on this all-day, 8-mile round trip hike through the snow, starting at the Nordic Center at Badger Pass. Traverse meadows and mixed conifer forests to Dewey Point. From Dewey Point, enjoy breathtaking vistas of El Capitan, Half Dome, Mt. Hoffman, Mt. Conness, and Clark Ridge. Due to distance and duration, children must be at least 14 years old to participate and accompanied by an adult.

    Badger Pass Ski Area is approximately a 45-minute drive from Yosemite Valley.
  • What to Bring

    Please bring physical proof of purchase—tickets or email confirmation—because the guide will not have access to a program roster. Dress for the weather. As evening temperatures can reach below freezing, we suggest you bring multiple warmer layers, a waterproof outer layer, a warm hat, gloves, and snow or hiking boots with thick socks. In addition, please bring water, snacks, and a flashlight.

    We can accommodate various special needs with advanced notice. We have assistive listening devices for those who are hard of hearing or, potentially, an interpreter for participants who are Deaf. If possible, please inform us of any needs before the program.
  • Cancelation Policy
    14-day cancellation policy. Deposit is non-refundable if cancelled 1-13 days prior to snowshoe hike.
