  • What can I do on my time off?
    • Located in the heart of one of the most amazing National Parks in the world, it goes without saying that there are lots of outdoor activities including world class hiking, biking, rafting, rock climbing, and bus tours. It is also a good idea to bring your own reading materials and movies/laptops for rainy days. A wellness center is available for indoor workouts and a community center with a ping pong table, lounge area, books, DVD’s and employee recreation activities is also available.
  • Are there organized employee activities?
    • Yes, we have events almost every day in Yosemite that are either hosted by Aramark or neighboring organizations. Activities include group hikes, movie nights, craft nights, volunteer opportunities, shopping trips, live music, barbeques, softball and much more.
  • Where can I go shopping?
    • There are gift shops, several restaurants, and two grocery stores within the park. Neighboring towns with grocery stores, restaurants, pharmacies, etc. include Oakhurst and Merced – both are about an hour and a half from the Valley, busses run to these locations daily from May through September.
  • How will I get around the properties without a car?
    • Within the Valley a free shuttle service runs 7 days a week. There are also low-cost shuttles that operate between Yosemite and neighboring towns including Fresno and Merced.
  • What will I need to bring?
    • I-9 documentation (i.e a passport or an ID paired with an original social security card), hiking shoes, clothing for all seasons, bedding and pillows, alarm clock, personal toiletries, towel, shampoo and soap, shower caddy, extra eye glasses/contacts, medication (at least one month supply), laundry soap. The long summer days mean long hours of sunlight which can cause some people to have issues getting to sleep. We recommend bringing an eye/sleep mask if you are concerned.
  • Is there cell phone and internet access?
    • Our location is remote, and while we do offer wireless access in some employee areas and housing units, you will typically not be able to stream video or download large files. ATT and Verizon are the main cell phone service providers, but due to the location, connectivity can sometimes be a challenge.
  • Are there appearance guidelines?
    • Our associates are expected to dress in the appropriate clean and pressed uniform and present a clean and neat appearance. Extreme hair styles and colors are not permitted. Hair must be clean, combed and well-groomed at all times, no non-natural styles or colors. Long hair must be tied back out of your face. Beards may not exceed two inches in length and starting a beard or mustache during the season is not acceptable. Jewelry worn on the job must be conservative, in good taste, appropriate to working attire and not conflict with job related safety standards. Visible body piercing, with the exception of ears, is unacceptable. Tattoos must be covered during work shifts.
  • May non-employees (such as dependents or spouses/partners) live in seasonal employee housing?
    • They may not.
