- Riders must be at least 7 years of age, at least 52 inches tall and weigh a minimum of 55 lbs.
- Riders cannot weigh more than 225 lbs.
- Families with children under 10 years of age are required to book the 8:30 AM or 12:00 PM ride times.
- Long pants should be worn on rides
- Close-toed shoes are required
- We provide saddle bags for all riders to store water and small personal belongings.
- Please leave purses, backpacks and all other bags in your car, they are not permitted on the ride.
- Riders must arrive 1 hour prior to their scheduled ride to watch a safety video and complete paperwork.
- The Wawona Stable is located approximately 30 miles from Yosemite Valley. Allow at least 45 minutes - 1 hour for driving time.
- Our staff is dedicated to ensuring an inclusive experience for all guests. After consultation, stable employees are happy to provide gentle horse rides around the corral for individuals with special needs.
Two-Hour Ride
Take a two-hour round-trip ride from Wawona Stables along the historic Meadow Loop Trail, tracing the path of early pioneers on the old wagon road. Along the journey, take in views of the Wawona Hotel, Wawona Meadow Loop, a former Miwok encampment, Wawona Dome, and lush forest. With its flat terrain and gentle pace, this ride is ideal for riders of all skill levels.

All-Day Rides
All-Day Rides start at Wawona Stables and travel to the impressive Mariposa Grove of Giant Sequoias. This is a challenging ride for experienced riders in good physical condition only. Rate: $150.00 per person

Horse Boarding
Yosemite offers horse boarding for visitors bringing their own horses. Stabling is available at Wawona Stable with prior reservation. Contact the stable for details at 209.372.8326.
- Horse must have proof of immunizations for Rabies, West Nile, Influenza, Eastern and Western Encephalomyelitis (Sleeping Sickness), and Tetanus.
- Horse must have a current Veterinary Health certificate, current Negative Coggins (AGID), and recent worming.
NOTE: The stable does not allow boarding for stallions.
Dog Kennel - CLOSED
Yosemite's dog kennel provides care for pets while you explore the park. Reservations are recommended, and proof of vaccinations is required. Contact 209.372.8326 for availability.
